Elementary Science Camp

Each year all 5th grade students in Trenton are invited to take part in a district supported science camp experience. This year students will travel to the YMCA Storer Camp in Jackson, MI. The students will leave on Monday, April 2nd and return to school on Thursday, April 5th.

During their time at camp students will take part in many science and skill building classes including the following:

The Beast, Orienteering, Ecosystems, Lewis and Clark, Tower Climb, Pioneer Pastimes, Incredible Journey, In cold Blood, and Total Team.

Students will also participate in evening activities and games including:

Campfire @ the Wharf, Predator / Prey, and The Underground Railroad.

The science camp experience provides many opportunities to meet not only academic but also social and emotional goals for all who participate.

The cost for each camper was $150 and included the camp fee, room and board, transportation to and from the camp, as well as a camp T-shirt. Students were able to participate in a number of fund raising activities to help defray the cost of camp.

We would like to thank the many parents who support this program through their fund raising efforts, attending informational meetings, and most importantly by chaperoning for the week.
