My name is Vanessa Schumaker and I am entering my twentieth year as an educator with Trenton Public Schools. I currently teach fifth grade at Hedke Elementary. Prior to teaching fifth grade I taught Kindergarten for six years and third grade for eleven years. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master's degree from Eastern as well in Reading. I have three daughters and have been married to my husband Mike for twenty years. I enjoy watching my children play sports, spending time with my family, reading and traveling.
