Mr. Todd Szalka

Todd Szalka is entering his 20th year as an educator with Trenton Public Schools. He is currently co-teaching Earth Processes, Biology, and Chemistry, as a member of the Special Education Department at Trenton High School. Before co-teaching, he managed the Emotional Impairment room at THS.  Todd graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Central Michigan University, double majoring in Special Education and Physical Education. He later earned a master's degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. Todd's wife, Juli, teaches 3rd grade at Anderson Elementary, where his children also attend. Todd is a 3-time member of the TEA negotiating team, runs the THS Athletics Banner program, has been the Varsity Baseball coach for 15 years, and is currently the President of the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.  He has also coached HS basketball and football. In his spare time, Todd has volunteered as a coach for youth baseball, basketball, and flag football.
