Mr. Mike Walters
My name is Mr. Walters. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with a major in psychology from Western Michigan University, and I earned my Master of Education degree in counseling from Wayne State University. In addition, I earned my Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. I am also a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I continuously seek to stay current in the fields of counseling and teaching through professional development courses and workshops.
I have been a member of the Trenton High School Counseling Department for the last twenty years. During this time, it has been both exciting and rewarding to guide students as they chart their academic and career goals. I have extensive experience helping students navigate college placements and career pathways. I look for the best in each student, and I strive to empower our students to work persistently to achieve their goals. Lastly, as a parent of two children (who are recent college graduates), I am very aware of the realities and challenges parents experience.
Working with you, I look forward to helping your student with his/her academic, career, and social/emotional development at Trenton High School.
