The trimester schedule at Trenton High School provides students with a rich selection of courses and opportunity to earn 30 credits over four years.Four CoreThe four core offerings in mathematics, English Language Arts, science, and social studies provide students with a solid academic foundation. While courses in each of these areas are required under the Michigan Merit Curriculum, students also may select from accelerated and elective courses.World LanguagesTrenton High School offers four years of three world languages, including Spanish, French, and German. Middle school students have the opportunity to earn up to 1.5 credits in Spanish prior to entering high school.Advanced PlacementStudents have the potential to earn college credit through eleven Advanced Placement (AP) courses offered at Trenton High School. Dual enrollment allows qualified students to take post-secondary classes while still in high school.ElectivesStudents can pursue their areas of interest by selecting from seventeen art courses, a variety of business electives, award winning music programs, and physical education courses with a focus on fitness to advanced conditioning.Downriver Career Technical ConsortiumTrenton High School is a member of the Downriver Technical Consortium (DCTC) consisting of nine local districts that share twenty-three programs. Trenton offers DCTC programs for Drafting and Design, Marketing, Automotive Service Technology, EMT/Criminal Justice, and Cabinetry/Furniture Making. Digital Media will be added to the offerings starting in 2017-18.Extra-CurricularA host of extra-curricular options are provided to enrich the school experience. Students may choose from over twenty clubs ranging from robotics to Japanese Culture. There are twenty-eight varsity sports. Business students have traveled to compete in the Great Lakes Trade Show and world language students have learned the culture and language first hand by visiting countries, such as France, Germany, and Costa Rica.
